social media GRAPHICS
Creating graphics that are cool, informative, and engaging was always our goal. These images are samples from the 3X3 program we ran last fall. The goal for us was to provide a mix of testimonials, program info, rules on 3X3, and hoop culture to attract families.
COMMUNICATE EARLY + OFTEN
The success of all future programs always came down to connecting with families early to align with the way families plan for their children. Next, we focused on magnifying each event in order to create a sense of FOMO. Lastly, we finished with surveys and closing marketing efforts in order to encourage current and future families to return for next sessions.
what matters most: community
Top priority for everything we do radiates community. Regardless of age, skill level, or gender ~ we want everyone to feel a sense of community and belonging. Our marketing efforts allowed us to tell our story and is what made new families, coaches, or partners show up to our next event or program with a sense of peace.
NEWSLETTERS
This program ran from October 20 - November 20, and we mobilized communication via social media and newsletters from August 19 - November 21. The goal was to encourage recipients to click on buttons and images that took them to our website with all of the program information.
If you click on any image below, it’ll send you to a separate page to view that specific newsletter.
PRESENTATIONS
These images are from a presentation we had recently with USA Basketball and Seattle Storm, for a new youth 3X3 expansion initiative.

I’m grateful to be considered for the Communications and Outreach Coordinator position with Terasaki Budokan.
I believe my experience from sport-based youth development (SBYD) to professional organizations gives me range on how to effectively satisfy the needs of various communities and partnering entities.
I find my ethnic background of being half Japanese and Black to be an advantage as I can speak on Terasaki Budokan’s vision through the history of Japanese-American communities while simultaneously speaking on the challenges for current communities of color in Los Angeles.
Above all, I find myself to be SELFLESS (too selfless sometimes I’ve been told). I find the more I’ve been able to help others find peace, fulfilment, or success ~ the more abundantly support and opportunities seem to come in return.
I want to bring that energy to this position.
Gratefully,
VICTOR JOHNSON
